The Brightway Story
Incorporated in 1997, Brightway Center is the life-long dream of our founder, Kara Bright.
The board and staff leadership team continue to fulfill Kara's vision. A Master Plan was developed for the property and in 2009 the renovation began. Today the Bright family home serves as the Welcome Center and houses the administrative offices. In 2011 Brightway held their first youth program, a S.T.A.R. Workshop in the Welcome Center. By 2012 participation had grown and larger facilities were needed. To accommodate the growth the old equipment barn was renovated into our state-of-the art Activity Center. Today the majority of our programs are held in the Activity Center.
Building a Brighter Future
Brightway’s programs often utilize sports to teach character and leadership development. As program participation has grown so has the demand for larger facilities. Our pressing needs is the construction of four multi-sport courts and an equipment storage facility. The courts will give us the ability to immediately provide after-school programming, physical fitness/nutrition education programs and fields for team sports. We are currently forging partnerships with state and local youth athletic organizations and associations to use our facilities to host basketball, volleyball, tennis tournaments and more. The sports facility will also allow us to expand our existing programs like Day of Champions. Within three years our goal is to complete Phase 1 of the Master Plan which includes cottages, additional ball fields and more as detailed in the Campus Site Plan.
